Introduction: | Micro:bit is an excellent tool for students to learn about coding and programming. Electronic sensor is one of the applications of micro:bit and it is extremely useful in STEAM education. One of the advantages of using electronic sensors comparing to traditional measuring tools such as thermometer and secchi dish is that the data we obtained could be easily recorded and digitalized. Since the data is already digialized, it can be transferred over a network and we can monitor the data easily by using our computer or mobile device over the internet. This is known as the Internet of things (IoT). In this workshop, we will show you how to use micro:bit to put IoT into practice. Different IoT methods such as makecode, excel and cloud service wil be introduced. (We can help to implement the IoT at your school. Priority will be given to the teachers who joined this workshop) |
